It has been a long wet spring here in the northeast. The challenges from this include: getting the grass cut in between the rain drops, planting the garden, and managing the pastures (to keep the horses and goats from making them too muddy and killing the grass). On the Alabu front, it has been an exciting and busy time.

Wholesale Sales
Many of you have inquired about buying Alabu locally instead of over the internet. In answer to your request, we are working on expanding the wholesale side of the business. We needed to purchase UPC codes and redesign our labels in order to be sold in most stores. We have finished this process, in large part due to our son's efforts, and we are ready to come to a store near you. If you would like your local grocery store or health food store to carry Alabu products, just ask them and give them our web site address. We will give them the same customer service you have come to expect from us, and maybe sometime in the near future you can purchase Alabu at your favorite store. You can also give them this link to get more information http://www.alabu.com/wholesalerequest.html .
June Coupon Reminder
A reminder! For those of you that placed an order between May 1, and June 15, you received (or will receive) a 10% coupon code in the shipping notification email. That coupon is good between June 1 and August 1. Alabu products make great summer gifts. You can combine this coupon with shopping points that you have accumulated as well.
Moving on
Our daughter Nell has moved to Maine . We will miss her, but are very proud of our wonderful daughter. Nell is full of compassion for others and is very level headed. She loves all animals (including lizards), and every sort of outdoor adventure. Rock climbing is at the top of the list. She has been an integral part of our soap making venture since the very beginning. It was her love of animals that prompted us to get our first two goats (she asked for a horse)! At age ten—even though she had wanted a horse—she loved and cared for the goats we had bought instead. Nell took complete care of them right down to milking them everyday before school started, and again in the evening. It was Nell who made up the name Alabu for our soap company, and she also suggested many of the fragrances for our soaps. Nell was also our original soap wrapper. The first four years Nell wrapped all the soap, and it was not until she went to college that we needed to hire additional help to wrap soap. We are going to miss our daughter Nell, and Alabu will miss her in the shop as well as around the farm.
Alabu Farm
Even though it has been a wet spring, it is still beautiful here in upstate NY.

Local Press Discover Alabu |
Our regional TV news station and newspaper did stories on Alabu. Both features came out within a day of each other, creating a bit of a buzz in the area. Capital News 9 came to our farm, and filmed a story on the benefits of goat milk and goat milk soap. They did a great story on all aspects of Alabu. From milking the goats, to wrapping finished soap. To see the 2 minute video and the story, click on Capital News 9 video.
The Albany Times Union did a product review of one of our gift baskets. This was a very nice review pointing out the beneficial qualities of Alabu products, as well as an area that we can improve in (which we have already begun). To see the complete article, click on Albany Times Union review.
