Well summer is on it’s way now and we are still trying to catch our breath from all the recent activities.

The first weekend in May, Dean drove 15 hours down to get our son Hal, who has moved back home from college in Tennessee.

The following weekend our daughter, Nell married her college sweetheart, Matthew. The wedding was a very beautiful and happy occasion. The bride and groom spent their honeymoon in a cabin in the Adirondack Mountains. They returned to Maine afterwards and moved into their new apartment to start a new chapter in their lives together. We miss them both, and we wish them all the best.

The next weekend, Nell’s college roommate, Joyce and her husband, Maarten who had been staying with us, returned to their home in the Netherlands. Though they only stayed with us for 10 days, we so enjoyed their visit and felt like they became part of our family.

Now in between all this Dean and Hal have been working hard on our new webpage. They put it up last week and it is up and ready for you to use. Let us know how you like it.

New Alabu Website
Yes! It's finally here; the grand opening of the new Alabu Website. Dean and Hal have been working on the new website for many months. We haven't made a new website in about six years and this one has been the biggest project we have undertaken so far. We hope you find it informative and easy to use. To celebrate the completion of our website we are offering a 10% off coupon to you our loyal customers. Just use the code (coupon code only available to subscribers) when you checkout (be sure to use the whole coupon code, including the word "coupon"). The coupon expires on 6/30/07.

We have had many requests to have a soap of the month sale, giving folks an opportunity to try a featured soap at a reduced price. This month we are featuring Green Tea. This soap has a wonderful light crisp fragrance with a hint of lemon. It is one of my favorite fragrances; it's perfect for cooling off from the summer heat. NOTE: Coupons and special offers do not apply to Soap of the Month items.

Seconds
We still have some seconds and have added more to our seconds sale. We have increased production on our most popular soaps, and now have a limited supply of seconds which we are going to offer on our web page while supplies last. Our soap seconds are the same as our regular soap, but are made by taking the ends from the soap log and molding them to form a regular size bar. The only difference is that they do not look as pretty. We wrap seconds with a tissue paper band around the middle and seal it with our label. They are about the same weight and size as regular bars. The price will be $3.00 a bar, a substantial savings from our regular bath bars. NOTE: Coupons and special offers do not apply to Soap of the Month items.

Olive Oil Soap

We have had many people write and tell us they have allergies to so many different oils. To try to make a soap to meet the needs of super sensitive skin we have created Olive soap, also known as Castile soap. It is very mild and the ingredients list is so simple, but so good for your skin. We start with goat milk that we culture into buttermilk, dissolve the sodium hydroxide and add Olive oil. That’s it. It does not have the same rich creamy lather our soaps are noted for but I think it is better than most Olive oil soaps. And best of all it can be used on the most sensitive skin.
