It was a hectic month getting ready, going and recovering from the Trade show in New York City. The show went well, we learned a lot and we met lots of nice people. It seems we did make a good impression, people were interested in our products, we took orders at the show and we have even had some folks we talked to at the show call to placed orders. So some of you may be seeing Alabu in your local stores. Our neighbors at the show thought our booth looked good; it was more natural and less commercial looking than most of the booths but that seemed fine as our products were more natural than most products that were there.

We didn’t do any sight seeing unless you call the subway and Penn Station sightseeing. My brother and his wife came through Penn station on their way home and he decided we should take the subway to go out to dinner with them. We had been taking cabs from our hotel to the show. Anyway we had a nice visit with them. Now we are home feeling somewhat back to normal and have a whole list of ideas for Alabu.

Suds cut his foot while we were gone. Our friend had been treating it with a salve but suggested we give him some penicillin which we did along with soaking his foot and he has gotten much better. He has really been a sweetie about the whole thing. Everyone else is doing great and enjoying the cooler weather.

Basil Soap

I am a basil lover, for me it is a very relaxing scent, and I always have some growing in my garden. Our neighbors at the greenhouse have always told us we should make basil soap as fresh basil is always a big seller at the farmers market. I had tried a few basil essential oils over the years but I never thought they smelled good. Eventually I did find one I liked and we are now adding Basil soap to our Essential oil line of soaps. Basil has been traditionally used to refresh and stimulate. If you are a basil lover too we invite you try our new soap. We know Basil soap is not for everyone, but we hope you basil lovers out there will enjoy it.

Soap of the Month

We have had many requests to have a soap of the month sale, giving folks an opportunity to try a featured soap at a reduced price. This month we are featuring Lemon Scrub. We formulated this soap with gardeners in mind, but it is great soap for anyone who gets really dirty hands. It is loaded with natural Citrus essential oils and cornmeal to get your hands really clean. We do have many customers tell us that they love this soap as an exfoliating treatment for their whole body, but mind you it is really quite scrubby! NOTE: Coupons and special offers do not apply to Soap of the Month items.

September Clearance Sale
We are bursting at the seams here at our Alabu workshop, and are still working on making room on our shelves by discontinuing some of our less popular soaps. This month we still have Paradise Retreat at a reduced price, and when it's gone it's gone. We are truly sorry if we are discontinuing your favorite scent, but as we develop new products, we need to make room for them. The good news is at least you can stock up now at a discounted price. We will be making some fragrances available on a seasonal basis. NOTE: Coupons and special offers do not apply to clearance sale items.

Seconds
We still have some seconds and have added more to our seconds sale. We have increased production on our most popular soaps, and now have a limited supply of seconds which we are going to offer on our web page while supplies last. Our soap seconds are the same as our regular soap, but are made by taking the ends from the soap log and molding them to form a regular size bar. The only difference is that they do not look as pretty. We wrap seconds with a tissue paper band around the middle and seal it with our label. They are about the same weight and size as regular bars. The price will be $3.00 a bar, a substantial savings from our regular bath bars. NOTE: Coupons and special offers do not apply to Soap of the Month items.

Hello all at Alabu! :) First, thank you for making such a wonderful, clean, natural product! A couple months ago, I was surfing the net for organic soaps for my fiance because of his sensitive skin! The first website I came across was yours and I knew my quest was over after reading your history, liking the design of the site itself, I ordered immediately! Then, I had to wait.....not too long!! The day your soap arrived in our mail box I knew it would be perfect because the mail box smelled soo nice...hee-hee!! Since, using your soap(s) my fiance's skin (and mine too) has improved greatly because of all the natural ingredients you pack into one bar of soap! Our skin is now smooth, acne free, dry free, rough spot free, and it glows! Using your soap makes us both feel truly clean and our skin is healthy!! I gave a bar of your soap to my sister for her to try and now she's hooked to your soap too! We just love, love, love, love, your soap! Almond Soap Sale

This is something in between a second’s sale and a clearance. We found a couple older boxes of Almond soap whose fragrance has faded significantly. However, when I washed with one of the bars, I noticed that is was an exceptionally nice bar to wash with. These bars are well aged and hard bars which should make them last a bit longer as well. So if you are in the market for a truly nice bar of soap with little or no fragrance at a reduced price these are for you. We are calling them seconds but they come in our regular pleated paper wrappers.
