Dear Alabu:Keep making Rich soap and Baby Face oil!! These products nourish, soften and comfort my mature, normal and sensitive facial skin in a very natural way. I tried the Monoi de Tahiti soap. It was excellent, but my skin preferred the Rich soap. I appreciate that both products are unscented. I use the Shea Butter Lotion Stick on very dry areas of skin, if needed. Note: I have tried other goat soaps and lots of other types of "natural products" with NO success. Thank you for all your hard work and "OUTSTANDING" products.

Richard died early in 2005 at the age of 46. He is survived by his wife and 3 boys (7, 10, and 12). Alabu is donating $1.00 per bar of Rich Soap to support the care and education of his 3 boys. We at Alabu will miss him greatly. Update - March 2007 - Thank you to our customers. You have contributed just under $1,000 to this fund. Thank you!
Our first encounter with Richard and his wife was while we were living in a tent and building our house. They came to us because they had heard we had 2 cats that needed a home. When Richard and his wife showed up, at our tent site to meet us and the cats, we became friends immediately. We both were home schooling our kids, we both had a deep faith and love for the Lord, we both liked blue jeans and T-shirts as our normal wear. As time went by, they added a few goats to their chicken collection and helped supplement our goat milk supply for Alabu Soap.
Richard’s whole life could be defined by his tremendous love of and devotion to his family. The only thing that Richard was more devoted to than his family was his relationship with Christ. Richard was an encourager. He had a spirit of love about him and never said a bad word about anybody. When you started a conversation with Rich, he always turned it back on you. How did YOU feel, how were YOU doing, and what could he do for YOU to make your day better. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Education was a very large part of Richard’s life. He was very involved in home schooling his boys and his career as a very competent Librarian for the NYS Education Department reflected his love for books.
Our hope and dream at Alabu is to help in assisting Richard’s wife not only with being available to provide emotional support and a male role model for the boys but also to continue building the fund to assist with the raising of the 3 boys right through college. At the time of Richard’s death, we were in the process of releasing a new soap that we believe to be the most moisturizing and gentle soap to date that we make. We have named it Rich. Alabu is committed to donate $1.00 per bar to the trust fund set up for Richard’s boys.
